The Public Affairs Ph.D. Rutgers-Camden focuses on community development and offers a great blend of academic rigor and practical learning. Rutgers supported my summer study at ICPSR, IQMR, and the learning community of faculty and peers encouraged independent as well as collaborative research that led to publications in well-regarded journals. Studying at Rutgers-Camden, above all else, taught me the value of making my research accessible and meaningful to both my academic community and the community from whom I am learning. The institution and the program allowed me to focus on being a scholar-activist.
