Eligibility Requirements for Executive MPA Applicants

The Executive MPA program is designed for seasoned professionals who are ready to take their leadership skills to the next level. To ensure success in this rigorous program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of five years of mid- to upper-level public service experience in a government or nonprofit sector organization.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.

  1. Complete the online application: Visit the Rutgers-Camden EMPA application portal and select Rutgers-Camden, Graduate Programs, Public Administration-Executive, Program Code 56831Q. Contact Dr. Angie McGuire at Angie.McGuire@rutgers.edu with any questions on how to proceed.

  2. Submit official transcripts: Provide transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework. These must be sent electronically to Rutgers-Camden Graduate Admissions. If electronic submission is not possible, official transcripts can also be mailed in a sealed envelope to:

  3. Resume: Share a current resume outlining your professional experience and accomplishments.

  4. Two letters of reference: These should speak to your professional abilities, leadership qualities, and potential for success in the Executive MPA program.

  5. Personal statement: Demonstrate your commitment to public service and explain why the Executive MPA program is the right fit for your career goals.

  6. Notify the Program Director: After submitting your online application, email Dr. Angie McGuire at Angie.McGuire@rutgers.edu to confirm that your application and supporting documents have been submitted to Rutgers Admissions.
