Myra Bluebond-Langner
( B.A. Temple; Ph.D. University of Illinois)

Professor Bluebond-Langner is a member of the Department of Sociology. She teaches cultural anthropology, psychological anthropology, and several courses on medical anthropology. Her first book, The Private Worlds of Dying Children has been translated into several languages and has made her a frequent speaker in Europe and elsewhere. Her latest book is In the Shadow of Illness: Parents and Siblings of the Chronically Ill Child. She is a recipient of the university-wide Warren I. Sussman Award for Excellence in College Teaching and the Margaret Mead Award from the American Anthropological Association.
