Drew Humphries
(B.A., Ph.D. University of California at Berkeley)

Professor Humphries is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, oversees the BA and MA programs in criminal justice, and teaches courses on the police, violence, deviance, and drugs. She has published numerous articles on crime in the U.S. including her book, Crack Mothers: Pregnancy, Drugs, and the Media published by Ohio State University Press. She is editing a collection of articles, Women, Violence, and the Media and continues to do evaluation research on drug related programs. Dr. Humphries is a recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Division on Women and Crime, American Society of Criminology and has received awards for teaching, including Rutgers' Creative Teacher of the Year Award.
