EDUCATIONAL POLICY LECTURE SERIES

An important part of a public administration program is its commitment to organizing professional education seminars from leading minds in the field of educational policy and leadership.

Introducing students (and faculty) to cutting edge theory and practice in school leadership is critical to our MPA degree, and the EPLC has a history of attracting some of the nation’s leading scholars in educational leadership to Rutgers-Camden for lectures, dialogues, and discussions.

Topics like race, multiculturalism, equity and efficiency, early bilingual literacy development, and the achievement gap expose students to relevant, real-life issues facing today’s school administrators and offer practical solutions on how to address them.

Past speakers in the Educational Policy Lecture Series have included Dr. Ronald Ferguson Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Ms. Willa Spicer, Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, Dr. Angeles Molina-Iturrondo, Dean of University of Puerto Rico’s School of Education, Joe Nathan, Director of the Center for School Changeand at the University of Minnesota, and Mr. Gary Howard, President and Founder of Respecting Ethnic and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Center, to name a few.
