Core Values

*Academic excellence is our prime value. Quality gives us our reputation and legitimacy that are hard to regain if lost. Decisions about existing programs and any new efforts should only be made if they strengthen quality.  Cutting corners, being a degree-mill, and resting on reputation are inconsistent with quality.

*We are committed to Public Service, whether locally in Camden, globally through our International Public Service and Development program through which students have served in over fifty nations, or region, state or other service in between.

*Professional development of students, graduates, faculty, and staff are our ends and our means to those ends.  Individuals, programs, and organization must grow and develop to stay effective and vital.

*Professional norms of ethical public service and respecting and utilizing diversity are central to our program.  These norms are crucial to effective service and relationships within our learning community.

*Collegiality and personal interest in the members of our academic community—students, graduates, faculty, and staff—are the way we relate to each other.    Members of our learning and service community are valued as individuals and not treated as numbersThis personal interest extends beyond graduation.

*Academic freedom and integrity are essential to our learning community.  This includes maintaining integrity in teaching, learning, research, and service but also being honest and open relating to each other.
