Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences &  National Cancer Institute
MPA Track: International Development and Administration

Cynthia Vinson is the Dissemination and Diffusion Coordinator for the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).  She has been in her current position since January, 2001.  In her current position she is responsible for working both within NCI and with other agencies and organizations at both the national, state and local level to translate research funded by NCI into practice.  She came to work for NCI as a Presidential Management Intern in 1998.  As an intern she worked in different offices on legislation, communication, science planning and web development projects.  Prior to working at NCI, she spent 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Gabon, Central Africa implementing health education and outreach programs for women and children.  Ms. Vinson earned a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers-Camden in 1998 with a focus on international development and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration at George Washington University.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her new husband and is developing a love of sailing
