Linda M. Kassekert has served as Chair of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission since 2002 where she heads regulation of the gaming industry in the state. Prior to joining the Commission, Kassekert was the associate director of government relations for the New Jersey Education Association and also had 12 years of experience in various positions in state and county government. Previously she served as an assistant county counsel in Camden County where she represented the county in the state courts in litigation dealing with employment law, contracts and other governmental matters. From 1990 to 1994, Kassekert was the deputy commissioner in the New Jersey Department of Personnel serving for a period as acting commissioner. She serves as the Commission’s representative on the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. She also holds board memberships on the Cooper Hospital Health Systems, the American Red Cross and the Penn Jersey Region Board of Directors of the American Red Cross. Kassekert was the first woman to be named chair of the Commission. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Gettysburg College, a Master of Public Policy degree from Rutgers University and a law degree from Widener University School of Law and she is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Kassekert is a trustee of the Casino Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. |
